#10. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Release date: 4/4/2014 (Phase 2)

Director: Anthony and Joe Russo

Synopsis: After the cataclysmic events in New York with his fellow Avengers, Steve Rogers, aka Captain America (Chris Evans), lives in the nation's capital as he tries to adjust to modern times. An attack on a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague throws Rogers into a web of intrigue that places the whole world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and a new ally, the Falcon, Rogers struggles to expose an ever-widening conspiracy, but he and his team soon come up against an unexpected enemy.

Ending: The leader of HYDRA, Alexander Pierce, dies; an important agent of HYDRA, Brock Rumlow (Crossbones), is mortally wounded. S.H.I.E.L.D is temporarily dissolved; Bucky gradually remembers his old friend. Nick Furry temporarily is hiding.

Major events: Introducing Falcon, Brock Rumlow and Sharon Carter (niece of Peggy Carter). Related to episode 16 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 1.

Between credits scene: Wolfgang von Strucker is visiting a lab at HYDRA, where Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are kept.

Post credits scene: Bucky is visiting World War museum and gradually restores his memories.


#11. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 1

Release date: 24/9/2013 (Phase 2)

(*) The timeline of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 1 is from The Avengers to The Winter Soldier, but the major event is about the collapse of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Synopsis: In the aftermath of the battle between invading aliens and the Earth's mightiest heroes, the Avengers, the special law-enforcement agency S.H.I.E.L.D. begins to intensively recruit new agents to investigate bizarre events and superhuman sightings. Led by Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), this mismatched team of super spies, geeky scientists, sneaky con artists and regular Joes with extraordinary gifts will have to come together as the first line of defense against the evil forces who seek to corrupt and destroy.

Ending: Coulson finds out that he is resurrected thanks to the synthetic serum from a dead alien. Grant Ward is arrested while agent John Garrett of HYDRA is killed. Nick Fury appoints Coulson as the director of S.H.I.E.L.D (now transferred to underground activity).

Major events: Introducing agents Grant Ward, Melinda May, Leo Fitz, Jemma Simmons, Skye and Antoine Triplett. Introducing new characters Deathlok, Raina, Victoria Hand, Ian Quinn.


#12. Guardians of the Galaxy

Release date: 1/8/2014 (Phase 2)

Director: James Gunn

Synopsis: Brash space adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself the quarry of relentless bounty hunters after he steals an orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain. To evade Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with four disparate misfits: gun-toting Rocket Raccoon, treelike-humanoid Groot, enigmatic Gamora, and vengeance-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when he discovers the orb's true power and the cosmic threat it poses, Quill must rally his ragtag group to save the universe.

Ending: Ronan dies, Power Stone is held by Nova Corps. Quill and his gang become Guardians of the Galaxy.

Major events: Introducing Quill, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Drax the Destroyer, Yondu Udonta and Nova Prime, along with Thanos' two daughters: Gamora and Nebula. The Collector returns to reveal that the sphere is an Infinity Stone.

Post credits scene: The Collector is sitting with Cosmo the Spacedog and Howard the Duck in the rubble.


#13. Avengers: Age of Ultron

Release date: 1/5/2015 (Phase 2)

Synopsis: When Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) jump-starts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go terribly awry, forcing him, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and the rest of the Avengers to reassemble. As the fate of Earth hangs in the balance, the team is put to the ultimate test as they battle Ultron, a technological terror hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they encounter two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff.

Ending: Ultron is destroyed, Vision is created with Mind Stone on his forehead. Quicksilver dies, Scarlet Witch joins Avengers. Sokovia where the last battle takes place is destroyed. Thor returns to Asgard while Hulk leaves Avengers.

Major events: Introducing Ultron, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Vision. Related to the 20th episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 2. The death of Wolfgang von Strucker paves the way for a new villain in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Between credits scene: Thanos decides to make it his own hands and put on Infinity Gloves (without any stone).


#14. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 2

Release date: 23/9/2014 (Phase 2)

(*) The timeline of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2 is from The Winter Soldier to Age of Ultron.

(*) Explanation of Inhuman: The Inhumans are an offshoot of the human race, deliberately created by the Kree, who spliced Eternal DNA into examples of European early modern humans (or Cro-Magnons). Their subjects, or victims, developed superhuman powers, but some became genetically damaged or horribly disfigured. They removed themselves from human society and formed a secluded community of their own, one with capabilities far in advance of the rest of mankind.

Synopsis: In Series 2, Phil Coulson and his team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and allies attempt to rebuild their organisation but they're forced to operate in secrecy because they're now wanted fugitives. Meanwhile, Grant Ward escapes and continues his sinister plan. Coulson finds out the secret about Inhuman. Skye turns out to be an Inhuman and her mother (Jiaying) is the leader of their secret community. She and loyalists declare war with S.H.I.E.L.D.

Ending: Jiaying dies, Coulson starts to form a team of Inhuman. Many Terrigen Crystals are submerged, leading to the outbreak of the new Inhuman.

Major events: Introducing agents Lance Hunter, Bobbi Morse, Alphonso "Mack" MacKenzie, Inhumen Lincoln Campbell, Jiaying, v.v…, and Calvin Zabo (the father of Skye), agent 33. Introducing Inhuman and Kree, which is continued in Season 3.
