Wonder Woman Helps The DC Extended Universe Earn Over $3 Billion Worldwide

Thanks to the film, the DC Extended Universe has earned over 3 billion dollar worldwide.

 

After one month in theaters, Wonder Woman broke the $700 million barrier at the worldwide box office this past weekend, thereby becoming one of the top 100 highest-grossing movies ever released; the news came mere days after the film surpassed all three previous installments to become the largest DCEU release at the domestic box office. As of the time of this writing, Wonder Woman has currently grossed $713.9 million globally, and earned a 92-percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, where it’s “Certified Fresh.” Its performance has already shattered the perception of the DC Extended Universe, and now the Patty Jenkins film has helped to propel the fledgling franchise past a major milestone.

According to Box Office Mojo, the four films of the DCEU: Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman, have now earned a cumulative $3 billion worldwide. Man of Steel earned $668 million worldwide, while Batman v Superman took home over $873 million and Suicide Squad managed $745 million.

Wonder Woman is still playing in theaters. Its cast includes Gal Gadot as Diana Prince (Wonder Woman), Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, Lucy Davis as Etta Candy, David Thewlis as Sir Patrick Morgan, Elena Anaya as Doctor Isabel Maru (Doctor Poison), and Danny Huston as General Erich Ludendorff.

Justice League unites on November 17, 2017. The superhero epic features a cast that includes Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne (Batman), Henry Cavill as Kal-El/Clark Kent (Superman), Gal Gadot as Diana Prince (Wonder Woman), Jason Mamoa as Orin/Arthur Curry (Aquaman), Ezra Miller as Barry Allen (The Flash), Ray Fisher as Victor Stone (Cyborg), Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, J. K. Simmons as Commissioner James ‘Jim’ Gordon, Joe Morton as Dr. Silas Stone, Amber Heard as Mera, Billy Crudup as Dr. Henry Allen, and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West. Julian Lewis Jones and Michael McElhatton are also in the movie in unspecified roles.
