Westworld star Jeffrey Wright has shared a photo teasing his return as CIA Agent Felix Leiter in the next installment of the James Bond Franchise.

American actor Jeffrey Wright, who played 007's CIA counterpart Felix Leiter in both 'Casino Royale' and 'Quantum of Solace,' has posted on Twitter and Instagram and immediately sparked rumours he may be coming back for a third time in Bond 25. Wright, who also plays Bernard in HBO's Westworld, occasionally throws up a fun, vague tease on social media by sharing a photo along with the caption: “Eh, who’s that brother? #Bond”

If Jeffrey Wright does come back as Felix Leiter in the as of yet untitled James Bond 25, it will be a milestone for the long-running spy franchise. He will wind up being the first actor to ever play the character three different times. The character of CIA operative Leiter has always been a significant part of the James Bond franchise. Leiter made his first-ever appearance in the very first Bond movie, Dr. No, and was a fixture of the series throughout the Sean Connery years. Leiter’s appearances became more sparse during the Roger Moore years, but he came back strong with appearances in both Timothy Dalton Bond films. Leiter vanished altogether during Pierce Brosnan’s Bond tenure but made a memorable return in the first two Craig Bonds, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

Neil Purvis and Robert Wade, who have written quite a few James Bond movies in the past, are currently working on the script for James Bond 25. The plot is still unknown, however the film's writers have promised that it will have a "relevant" story, the recent installments having reflected the changing face of espionage and global relations.

Christoph Waltz is expected to be back for Bond 25 and 26, and Daniel Craig is now thought to be returning, but the franchise will definitely get a new director after Sam Mendes bowed out after two films.

Bond 25 has yet to be given a release date.
